Beef Brisket with Norteña Sauce

Yield 10-15 servings


1 large beef brisket trimmed
Kosher Salt
Black pepper to taste
Vegetable oil as needed
2 small red onions sliced
4 cups of Salsa Roja Norteña – La Patrona


1. Season Brisket with salt and pepper and let rest overnight
2. Heat a large pan with tight fitting lid over high heat and sear brisket on all sides
3. Add onions Norteña sauce and bring to a simmer; cover tightly
4. Place in 300 degree oven and cook for 6-8 hours (checking every 2 hours)
5. When tender, shred with two forks and add remaining Norteña sauce
6. Serve in tacos, empanadas, tostadas, burritos or anything else
